Cruise week 2, oh my!

I've practically been non existent in the blogging world. It seems that it always happens after being on a hardcore diet plan. Maybe it's the fact that I follow so many awesome foodie bloggers, and cannot fight the urge to cook one of their delicious dishes...
I left off with you all, letting you know that we are in the process of getting a new tub. Well, that did not only take over the whole 3day weekend, we ( we = our handy man, and hubby! ) are finishing up the final touches this afternoon! The biggest issue was the main drain, that never was replaced in a 1960's home, so think about it... All the nasty that has been going through the drain, and after so many years, it starts to get a huge buildup of, CRAP! I have done you all a favor to not post up the picture, being that hubby and I almost vomited!
With all that being said, week 2 of cruise has been horrible! I shouldn't rephrase that, we didn't follow the plan to the "T"... Hubby did a lot better than me though. I think he was probably the only one who followed the plan.. Tee hee
Some examples of what we did wrong:
1. On PP days, we added veggies just to be filled
2. I personally cheated on the dukan, after going out for lunch and eating greek spinach pie. ( it was delish)
3. We ate some kettle chips, wasabi almonds, pistachios, wasabi peas, and acai chocolate nibs...

Okay, there you have it! those were our cheats, and OH WAIT!
I had cereal this morning... Tee hee
I've been having the craziest cravings for cereal, and I had to get my fix!

I mixed up kashi go lean, trader joes fiber fruit and nut cereal, and some walnuts in almond milk! So freaking delicious! Btw, I'm not a fan of dried fruit so I removed the fruit from the cereal.
Being that today is a PP day, I'm going to try and focus on the foods that I should be eating. Big problem is that I haven't got much to work with in the fridge, so this is going to be exciting.... NOT! :)

Cruise days 4-7 Week 1 of cruise

Oh my, how long has it been!! Haha, I know I haven't updated since cruise day 3, but that doesn't mean that hubby and I quit dukan. We actually finished off week 1 and lost lbs too! Yay! :)
Here are the stats:
Cruise week 1 Jan. 7-Jan. 14
Hubby: -1.6 lbs

Me: -0.8 lbs

Yes! Not a crazy number, especially on my side,  but its still a loss. Being that I was sick, and didn't exercise more than 2 days of the week. I think increasing the workouts will help with the loss.

Our meals have been pretty much the same from cruise 1-3. Yeah. I know... its pretty boring for me, too...
I'm hoping to get more creative with my cooking for the upcoming week.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I'm enjoying it with hubby, but we are working our butts off with our tub/drain. We are experiencing prbs with our bathtub drain, where even hardcore plumbers with crazy machines and liquid acid cannot fix! Its been pretty bad, and now, with the help of a handyman, we are changing the tub and also changing the pipes... yes, a great weekend, indeed! All I know is that my t.v. will be blasting when the giants and green bay play this afternoon! Cannot wait!! I like both teams, btw...

Cruise Phase Day 2 and Day 3

Many of you are wondering why I've been posting only my meals and left out the usual recipes, day-to-day ramblings... well, being that its the new year, I've been busy staying out doors and being more productive!
After Saturday's outing, I caught my hubby's cold, and I suffered on Sunday. Nyquil has been giving me a goodnights rest!

Day 2 PP day
Breakfast: oatbran porridge, hubby had eggs with turkey bacon
Lunch: shiritaki noodles with leftover baked chicken. Hubby made a delicious sauce with a little woreschestire and siracha sauce.
Dinner: I made a spicy chicken soup, using low sodium chicken broth and chicken pieces. I added red pepper flakes for a kick. Hubby had leftover soup, and noodles. He wasn't thrilled with the noodles.

Workout: 30 mins of cardio

Day 2 thoughts: being that I was sick and went for a workout, I just wanted to hit the sack and sleep. I was in no mood for food, so you can see my creativita!

Day 3 PV day:
Breakfast: soup

Lunch: broccoli and string beans with a veggie patty

Dinner: broiled salmon, steamed chinese broccoli, baked tofu cubes

Snack: yogurt with fruit bits

Beverages: coffee, water, tea

Dukan Diet Cruise Day 1

Today was a special day! So, for special days what happens!? You eat what you shouldn't be eating, that's what!
It happened to be my sister in laws bday, and being that she is a burger lover, hubby wanted to treat her to a delicious burger. We went to a burger spot called Burger and Barrel, in the city. After asking for a recommendation from the hostess and the server, we ordered a burger called "the bash style burger". YUMMY!!! It was so good, I was not too sad that I cheated wth that.

Enough talk, since I'm feeling under the weather... (hubby passed his cold to me,which then mutated to something horrible for me...)

Breakfast: hubby had 2 hard boiled eggs. I had a cobani peach yogurt

Lunch: burger, the delicious burger! With 2 onion rings and a few fries, 2 chicken lollipops

Snack: a few bites of delicious cheesecake from Eileen's Cheesecake shop in the city ( the strawberry was our fave! )

Dinner: 1 piece of sashimi, and 2 pieces of sushi roll

Beverages: coffee, water, tea, diet coke

Hubby and I both know that our losses may stall a bit. We will work harder for our goal. Also, on Monday, we will add exercise to our system.

Juju

Dukan Diet Attack Phase Day 4

Officially done with the attack phase!! So happy that hubby and I got through it. For us, the secert is to make sure that you have variety. I'm usually the one who gets bored with the same food. Hubby, on the other hand can eat the same thing everyday! That's a negative for me! So I buy lots of fish, shrimp, chicken, eggs. I tend to not buy beef or pork because when we eat out, its easiest to choose those meats ( i.e. steak, chops) as a protein meal.
Stats:
Hubby lost 8lbs on the attack
I lost 3 lbs on the attack
Here is our menu:
Breakfast: eggs, steak pieces, and oatbran
Lunch: chicken sausage ( found at costco, no added preservatives, made with chicken breast, gluten free), chicken tenders
Dinner: chicken sausage, stir fry chicken and broccoli. I decided to eat broccoli for our final meal because we didn't have food at home, and it was easy to make. It did not affect the weight loss.
I must admit that I do miss eating my pizza and tacos... but on the other hand, I feel great about the weightloss and want t succeed!
Have a great Saturday!

Dukan Diet Attack Day 3

Yesterday was an ok day for me. Why is that? Well... I had a dinner date with an old friend, and we went to outback steakhouse. I asked advice from other dukanes on the U.S. facebook pg n got the best advice!! The only downfall was that I enjoyed a cocktail. Well... if it makes it any better, I had the skinny rita, which was about 170 cals. This mornings weigh in wasn't terrible and I still had a loss! Btw.... I know a lot of people on the dukan weigh themselves everyday and put it on, but I prefer to weigh myself after a week to make that count. I put post up losses/gains every week to show my progress.

So, here is my day 3 attack menu:

Breakfast: eggs with turkey bacon

Lunch: oatbran, chicken with yogurt sauce

Dinner: outback steakhouse: sirlion no seasoning with shrimp. It came with 2 sides but I took that in a doggie bag!

Beverages: coffee, water, tea, diet coke, cocktail
