You need the right story!!

[source] I took a lesson from Tony Robbins today! I’ve been watching Oprah’s Lifeclass Tour, and in every one of them, it’s been very inspirational. The lesson that Tony taught was about changing your own story, of what you tell yourself, so that you can move on from your fears and setbacks. Now, let me tell you~ I didn’t think that I had a story, nor did I feel like I was living in fear. But, after getting into the show, and hearing others with their stories, I realized that I do tell myself a story, which therefore, sets me up to fail my #1 thing of all---> my diet/lifestyle change!!!

Tony says that with 3 things that he will teach us, we can change ourselves and be successful in whatever it is! LET’S DO THIS!!

1. STRATEGY: HOW DO I…? – What is your strategy of what you want to do? I will use myself as an example of getting into a fit lifestyle. My Strategy: How do I live a healthier lifestyle?

2. STORY: YOU NEED THE RIGHT STORY! – Before realizing that I was setting myself up for failure, the story that I was telling myself was this: “If I don’t workout today, I can get back to it tomorrow.” Tomorrow, doesn’t happen because I tell myself the same thing the next day. Then, a week passes and I haven’t worked out, therefore, I have set myself up! ( YOU SEE THE PATTERN HERE?!) My story today: I have 30 mins right now. “Let me go to the gym, and see what I can do there.” When I got to the gym, I hopped on the treadmill, and walked for 1.5 miles, and also went on the recumbent bike, and rode for 20 mins.  I could of stayed home and told myself that I could pop in a dvd, but I wanted to get out to the gym and be in the environment. It really felt great!

3. DIFFERENT STATE OF MIND: YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE WAY YOU ARE THINKING! – What helps me in this part is the advice that Deepak Chopra gave about negative thoughts in your mind. He says to think about the word STOP or NEXT. When I have a negative thought, I think of either word, and start to take deep breaths in and out. Then, I either think of something happy ( like a baby giggling), or think about what makes me happy.

I told you in my previous post about how this week has been better for me. Especially because of the way I’ve been telling myself every morning. One thing that gets me in a brighter mood has been listening to my pandora while I brush my teeth in the morning! It gets me pumped and ready to take on the day! Two of my favorite songs are these:

Danza Kuduro by Don Omar

If you’re a fan of Fast and Furious, then you heard this song in the last movie that just came out! This song gets me pumped everytime I hear it!!

Ellie Goulding- Lights

I LOVE this song! 2 Different songs, but they both get me pumped!! Try it out for yourself, and share what songs get you pumped!! =]

Now, I wanted to share with you what I’ve been eating lately. The best thing about weight watchers is that vegetables and fruits have zero points! Of course, there are exceptions to that rule, like if you were to juice it, then you would need to count the points. I’ve read from many followers that they sometimes count points for bananas or try not to eat much fruit during the night, because of it’s sugar content. For me, I try to eat my fruit during the day, and less to none in the evening.

Here’s was my menu for today:

Breakfast:

DSC00627 1 large grapefruit, 1 large eggwhite scramble with bell peppers and 2 canadian bacon atop 1 corn tortilla. I sprinkled in some scallions on top. Super yummy breakfast!

DSC00628It takes a little time to prepare the grapefruit, but I find it to be the best way to eat, since you are getting in the pulp, and not just drinking the juice.

**Of course I drank my coffee and lemon water before all this! This is my ritual every morning, to help my body flush out everything, and keeps me regular. Anyone who suffers from constipation, should try this out before taking laxatives. ( I try to tell my friends in the forums who suffer from thyroid disorders to try this out too!)

Lunch: My super Smoothie!

DSC00632 Here are my ingredients to the smoothie: 1 scoop of chia seeds, 1 scoop of choc protein powder, 1 scoop of TJ’s super green, 8oz of almond milk, 2 kiwi’s, 1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries!

DSC00633 My go to smoothie maker! Nothing fancy, or crazy expensive! Just my handheld cuisineart blender ( I bought mine from Century 21, that came in a pack with a chopper, blender, and whisk for about $20!) and the HUGE blender top is from my magic bullet attachment! I don’t use my magic bullet anymore because I gave it to my mom. So there you have it folks!

DSC00634 DSC00636 All the ingredients in the blender, and I drank it straight from my massive smoothie cup! It’s just so convienent to not have to wash an extra cup! =] I highly recommend buying a stack of straws in the 99Cents store! =]

DSC00590 DSC00591 And I added my new favorite thrist quencher! Zico coconut water in chocolate flavor. Oh man, I really love this drink, not only because it tastes great, but for all of the benefits!

And dinner will be:

Kalbi and Korean Soft Tofu bowl, all made at home! I will share my picutres and recipe tomorrow!

Update: I was going to post up a successful recipe of kalbi and soft tofu bowl, but it was not successful my friends! I am so disappointed with the recipe that I used, but hubby was a trooper and gobbled it all up!

Before I go, I wanted to share with you what I picked up at Trader Joe’s today!

DSC00630 This plant is called PHALAENOPSIS! Sometimes called moth orchids, these are the most popular breed of orchids for at home planting.

DSC00631 I just love how it gives my living room a POP of color! =]

Have a great evening!
